Archetype

[edit] General Information
For the AA list, see AA:Archetype.
Archetypes are a way for classes to be split up, based on their job and skills; classes can also be split up by armor classification. There are four archetypes.
[edit] List of Archetypes
- Pure melee - Warrior, Monk, Rogue, Berserker - these classes do not get any spells; indeed, they don't even get mana.
- Hybrid - Paladin, Shadow Knight, Ranger, Beastlord - these classes are highly capable in melee combat, but also get spells similar to those of their parent casting class; Paladins (Cleric + Warrior) receive holy spells, Shadow Knights (Necromancer + Warrior) receive unholy spells, Rangers (Druid + Warrior) receive nature spells, Beastlords (Shaman + Monk) receive tribal spells.
- Pure caster - Necromancer, Enchanter, Magician, Wizard - these classes, all of which are silk-clad, robe and all, differ greatly in knowledge from one another. Indeed, the only similarity between them is that they all study arcane spells, unlike the priests, who do more prayer-based magic.
- Priest - Cleric, Druid, Shaman - these classes are casters, who cast prayer-based magic rather than arcane spells. They can all heal exceptionally well, with the Cleric being the greatest in this area. They can also all buff exceptionally well; most of a raid's buffs will come from priests.
- Bard - The only odd class out here is Bards, who really don't fit into any of the above categories. They can melee better than a caster or priest, but aren't particularly great at it; likewise, they aren't particularly great at any of the songs that they sing (with exceptions). They're more of a jack-of-all-trades. If they had to be categorized, they would fit best under hybrids, but they don't fit particularly well there.
