Backflag

[edit] General Information
The term backflag (not to be confused with bagflag) refers to when an raid force (generally a guild) has completed a given level of progression, but needs to go back and redo it from time to time so newer members gain access to the resulting raid content. Backflagging was particularly rampant in the Planes of Power era, because access to the Elemental planes required completion of nearly every event in the expansion. Gates of Discord was also particularly well-known for its backflagging, but only because it didn't make use of the newly-added bagflags; the backflagging in Gates of Discord was not particularly difficult or time-consuming.
One current zone that requires constant backflagging is the Demi-Plane of Blood. The five Curse of Blood raids don't have to be completed for everybody, as they can be bypassed by way of bagflag; however, each member must still complete access to Dreadspire Keep, and extend that to completion of the Monocle of Blood, which requires a Master Vule, the Silent Tear kill.
[edit] Bagflags
Alternate Backflags, added sometime in the Gates of Discord era, were Sony's answer to alleviate the issue of backflagging in Planes of Power. Upon an Elemental Plane god's death, the flag received for hailing the Astral Projection would act as a flag for their respective zones, and the Plane of Time phase 3 bosses would drop a Time Phased Quintessence that would act as a Plane of Time flag. Time flags did not, however, give access to the Elemental planes.
