The term "bank" refers to the collective location in which players can place their items, and not have to retrieve them from their corpse when they die. There bankers in most, if not all, cities in the game, and all bankers refer to the same bank; that is, for example, if a player places an item in the bank in Oggok, that item will be there if that player enters the bank in Neriak.
The bank currently has 24 top-level slots, along with a slot for each of the basic types of currency. It also has two top-levels lots and one platinum slot in the "shared bank", which is viewable by all characters on the same account and server.

- February 21, 2006 - with the release of Prophecy of Ro, the bank was expanded to 24 slots.
- February 24, 2003 - with the release of Legacy of Ykesha, the bank was expanded to 16 slots, and the shared bank was added.
