[edit] Introduction

The Beastlord is a hybrid class; a cross between the Monk and the Shaman, mixing them with great spells and deadly melee abilities. They are primarily a DPS class and their spells add to their killing power or enable them to buff and heal themselves and others. Until higher levels, however, a Beastlord's highest damage output is through their pet. Each race has a different type of pet; Barbarians get white wolves, Iksar get scaled wolves, Ogres get bears, Trolls have alligators, and Vah Shir get tigers. When the Beastlord acquires the Dual Wield skill, their DPS increases significantly, and it jumps again at level 71 when the Beastlord gains the Double Attack skill or when the Beastlord purchases the correct AAs to begin to Double Attack. However, Beastlords are not the best source of DPS or the best casters, they are simply a mix of the two.

[edit] Combat Skills

The Beastlord is primarily built for melee combat. They are able to use the 1H Blunt, 2H Blunt, Piercing, and Hand to Hand skills for weapons. Their only choice for ranged combat is Throwing and personally, I wouldn't suggest wasting your money and time on raising the Throwing skill as a Beastlord can pull using spells and Throwing weapons provide very little or no damage at all. I chose to raise all these combat skills except Throwing, and once you reach the higher levels keeping them capped is usually easy.

Non-weapon combat skills include Offense, Defense, Block (acquired at level ??), Dual Wield (acquired at level 17), and Double Attack (acquired at level 71).
