[edit] General Information

This mission is the third in the arc of five for access to Bloodmoon Keep raids; Walking into Spider Webs is required to request it, and completing it leads into The Departed. Like the others, this mission is pretty simple; however, it takes longer than The Bloodmoon, mostly due to the long trash clear. In addition to the Fang Breakers faction and progression toward those raids, the mission also yields a Grimy Were-Orc Claw, which is used in The Ancient Faycite Resonance Barrier.

[edit] Quest Information

This mission can be requested from Larquin Fangbreaker, at location (-1400, -3200, 700) - in the Fang Breakers camp in Loping Plains; near the zone line to Steamfont Mountains. Walking into Spider Webs is required to request the mission; the dialog following the turn-in at the end of that mission leads into this one:

Your task 'Walking into Spider Webs' has been updated.

Larquin Fangbreaker says, 'So what have you found of the wereorc's plans for the spiders?' Larquin nods gravely as you describe the cocooned slaves and the behemoth spider Queen in the back of the cavern. Larquin Fangbreaker says, 'Kadara must hear of this new spider [Queen] you've seen. In the mean time I have a [favor] to ask of you.'

Your faction standing with Fang Breakers got better.

You have successfully been granted your reward for: Walking into Spider Webs

You say, 'What favor would that be?'

Larquin Fangbreaker says, '(needed)'

You have been assigned the task 'Bronzebeard's Fate'

[edit] Task Description

One of Larquin's fellow werewolf hunters was captured while trying to scout Bloodmoon Keep. Enter the jail of Bloodmoon Keep and rescue Hurley Bronzebeard. It's likely he's being held in the jail cells just north of the stables.

[edit] Enter Bloodmoon Keep

After requesting the mission from Larquin, the first step is to zone into the instanced version of Bloodmoon Keep. The entrance can be found at location (1790, 100, 210); click on the door and select Yes when asked if you want to zone into the instanced version.

[edit] Loot 5 Bloodmoon Shackle Keys and Free 5 Slaves

Once your group is all zoned in and ready, start clearing to the northeast. Every a Bloodmoon jailor will drop a Bloodmoon Shackle Key; collect five of these, any that you get beyond five are unimportant and can simply be destroyed. In the first hallway there are several jail cells. Each cell will have "a race slave" (where race is elf, gnome, or dwarf). You should have more than enough keys at this point. Hand a slave a key to free them. Each slave you free will yield unique dialog:

  1. a race slave sprints for the door before you can ask her anything. So much for gratitude.
  2. a race slave says 'Who? What? Never heard of him. Of course I've seen nothing but the inside of this cell for the last two weeks. Good luck, and try not to get yourself killed in here!
  3. a race slave hugs you and makes a beeline straight for the door. 'Sorry never seen a Hurley in here!'
  4. a race slave says 'I think he was in the cell next to me, at least I saw some dwarf getting dragged in there three days ago.
  5. a race slave says 'Hurley? You mean that dwarf they caught spying in the stables a few days ago? I haven't seen him since they caught him, but most of the able bodied prisoners are forced to work in the mines. If you're fool enough to go looking, you'll probably find him down there.'

Once you've freed the fifth one, the objective will be completed, unlocking the next one.

[edit] Kill Hurley Bronzebeard

When you first free the slaves, the objective will be to rescue him. Stay to the left as you get into the mines - you'll find the door to his holding room at location (995, -260, -47). Make sure you're ready before you open the door to his cell; when you do, you will receive the following emotes:

a Bloodmoon jailor roars as Hurley's limp body moans on the floor in front of him. The dwarf has obviously been tortured repeatedly since he's been captured. His clothes are torn and covered with layers of blood and vomit. You doubt he can survive much longer.

a Bloodmoon jailor looks down the hallway towards you and roars loudly. Hurley's other two captors turn towards you with bloodlust in their eyes.

The second will come roughly six seconds after the first, and the three mobs will rush the group, even if the only person in range feigns or fades. None of them are particularly difficult; but there are three of them. Take care of them and move into the room. In the northwest corner, a Dwarf will be lying on the ground; Hurley Bronzebeard. Do not hail him until you're ready. When you do, he will stand up and yield the following dialog:

You say, 'Hail, Hurley Bronzebeard'

Hurley Bronzebeard staggers to his feet as you approach. It takes a great effort for him to mouth a few broken words as you approach. "Mu. . . t. . .go. . .away. . . kill. . .." You notice a number of what appear to be bite marks along his arms.

Hurley Bronzebeard's features begin to stretch and tear as he transforms into a werewolf!

Your task 'Bronzebeard's Fate' has been updated.

As the emote suggests, he turns into a werewolf and attacks. When he does, the fourth objective will complete itself, and the fifth will unlock; Kill 1 Hurley Bronzebeard. You should be able to make short work of him, he is significantly weaker than the orcs in the zone. When he goes down, the objective will be completed.

[edit] Speak with Larquin Fangbreaker

Once you've taken down Hurley, send somebody back to speak with Larquin. He can be found in the same place; at location (-1400, -3200, 700), in the Fang Breakers camp in Loping Plains. Upon hailing him, the mission will complete, and Larquin will yield the following dialog:

You say, 'Hail, Larquin Fangbreaker'

Your task 'Bronzebeard's Fate' has been updated.

Larquin's eyes grow wide with horror as you relay the fate of his friend Hurley. These beasts will [pay] for what they did to Bronzebeard. I swear it on my life!'

Your faction with Fang Breakers got better.

You have successfully been granted your reward for: Bronzebeard's Fate

To begin the next mission, The Departed, go and speak with Maria Starforge. She can be found on the east side of camp, near the wagon.

(what does the [pay] dialog lead into?)
