[edit] Quest Formatting
I'm just getting back into EQ and have fairly low level characters. Most of the site seems to be for higher level folks. I'd be willing to add content on the lower level stuff, especially quests as I do them. Do you have any format in mind for posting quests? I'm a librarian by trade, so I know how easy it could be to get a lot of unorganized data without some kind of format to start with. I'd be willing to try and setup some kind of framework. At the least the Quest Info should include the following:
- Quest Initiator
- Quest Zone
- Initiation Dialogue
- Quest Level
- Quest Objectives
- Quest Object/Contact Locations
- Quest Reward
- Faction Changes Resulting
I'm sure there is more to include. Any thoughts?
[edit] Sounds Good
That sounds like a good format to me. All dialogue can be wrapped in {{Dialog|text goes here}}, to achieve the nice quoted formatting, as on Mayong Mistmoore. The rewards I'm going to set up so that you can just do <rewards /> (like <drops /> for mobs) to easily include all possible item rewards for a quest - this makes for easy, maintenance free two-way linking (I.E. like on Allakhazam, all quests that say they have Blighted Stone of the Heathen as a reward will be listed on Blighted Stone of the Heathen's page). If you'd like to get a feel for how this will work, check out Fennin Ro the Tyrant of Fire#Items Dropped, and hit the [edit] link.
Thanks for helping to include the low-level game. The wiki is currently geared more towards higher level players, mostly raiders really, because that's what I am, and what most of the contributors are. We can really only contribute what we know ;) - Floppie 14:29, 11 August 2007 (EDT)
