[edit] History

As the first mortal race planted on Norrath, much of the history of the Claws of Veeshan is known only to dragonkind.

Early in their existence, but after other races were created, a council was formed to rule over them. Kildrukaun was eventually named the Arch Priest of Veeshan by this council who's wisdom they sought in almost all their decisions. His first decree would be to condemn the unification of souls between dragons whose elemental influences were of opposition. It was of his belief, and thus the belief of the council, that such a union was against Veeshan's will and would have dire consequences upon the entire dragon nation.

Once a prismatic dragon was born to parents of opposing elements, it was viewed that only the will of Veeshan herself was capable of defying her arch priest and he was named Kerafyrm which translated means "Prophetic Savior". It was viewed that he could reunite the Ring of Scale with the Claws of Veeshan returning power and prestige to the dragon nation. He quickly ascended the ranks and became the most powerful general in the Claws of Veeshan. He was instrumental in the ongoing struggle against the giants of Kael Drakkal.

However, as he became more powerful, he was turning to darkness, lusting for destruction and chaos. Eventually the council decreed that he must be destroyed. Secretly, Kildrukaun swayed several elders to Kerafyrm's side. Shortly thereafter, the only war amongst dragons waged. Kerafyrm and his followers were severely outnumbered, but managed amazing displays of strength and power dealing a crippling blow to the survival of the elder council. Eventually, he was restrained and sent to his eternal prison deep beneath Velious, but four of his most devout followers escaped and fled beyond the reach of the council.

An uneasy peace settled over the Claws of Veeshan as they withdrew into their temples. Their war with the giants came to a standstill with minor skirmishes between the two.
