The Combine Empire Merchants are the faction that controls Katta Castrum, the main city in The Buried Sea. Most, if not all, missions that originate in Katta Castrum will raise the group's faction with the Combine Empire Merchants.

There is a large group of vendors (hence the name, "Combine Empire Merchants") in Katta Castrum that will sell items to players, using Orux, Phosphites, and Phosphenes as currency. The items available for purchase are based on the player's faction level.

There are four other vendors on the Combine Empire Merchants faction that sell useful items for simple platinum-based currency.

• Historian Divinicus - sells books and scrolls, containing some lore for the expansion.
• Master Nemetis - sells standard basic supplies; food/drink, bandages, peridots and other simple reagents, etc.
• Trader Difius - sells augmentation solvents.
• Trader Thallynus - sells spells to teleport to Katta Castrum.

There are a number of avenues open to players who wish to raise their faction with the Combine Empire Merchants. While there are no mobs that can be simply killed to raise one's faction, there are a number of repeatable missions and solo tasks, including most of the arc of missions for access to Solteris, the Throne of Ro

Completing this arc of missions, along with the A City in Peril series, will flag a player for access to Solteris, the Throne of Ro.

This arc of missions is given by Flora Venloe in Katta Castrum.

These two missions are given by Arcanist Tivalin in Katta Castrum. The first five missions in the Solteris access arc, ending with Confront Emperor Vaakiszh, must be completed in order to request them.

This arc of tasks is given by Archarcanist Kirstmycl in Katta Castrum.
