Direct Damage

The terms "direct damage" and "nuke" refer to spells that deal instant damage to a target. Most Wizard and many Magician spells are of this type; Claw of Selay for example. All other casting classes get direct damage spells, Wizards and Magicians are simply the most common; this is similar to how Necromancers and Shamans get the most damage over time spells, even though many other classes do get them.
