Instrument cap

The instrument cap refers to the highest level instrument modifier which will affect a Bard's songs. Some songs are not modified at all by instruments, and some songs reach their maximum power potential before the instrument cap is reached.

The instrument cap starts at 3.6 when a Bard is created.

Planes of Power introduced three ranks of Ayonae's Tutelage AA which increases the instrument cap by 0.1 each rank to a max of 3.9.

Gates of Discord introduced three ranks of the Echo of Taelosia AA which increases the instrument cap by 0.1 each rank to a max of 4.2.

It should be noted that through Instrument Mastery AAs and instrument itemization, it's possible to attain theoretical instrument mods greater than 4.2, when this occurs, the mod is still capped at 4.2.

• When the AA system was revamped, the Echo of Taelosia line was combined with the Ayonae's Tutelage line effectively granting Bards one line of AAs that increase the instrument cap by a total of 0.6 rather than two lines which increased it by 0.3 each.
