[edit] General Information
This expansion added the first instanced zones to EverQuest. All of these zones are located, geographically, on the Old World continents of Antonica and Faydwer. There are five major zone themes, outlined below; each major theme has several minor layout variations, each of which are in fact separate zones. The expansion, in total, contains 48 separate zones.
Although there were raid adventures added, this expansion was mostly (almost entirely) popular only for single groups. The raids were extremely difficult, with less-than-amazing rewards; for this reason, many top-end raiding guilds serverwide began to voice their discontent with the game.
[edit] Wayfarers' Brotherhood Camps
Progression and lore in this expansion are based around a group of callous adventurous that call themselves the Wayfarers' Brotherhood. Led by a powerful Barbarian named Morden Rasp, these adventurers desire to delve deep into the long-forgotten dungeons around Norrath, to uncover whatever secrets and treasures may lie within.
The adventurers divided themselves into camps; each of which has a Magus who can teleport players from one camp to any of the others using Farstone Magic, a discovery of made by the Wayfarers themselves. The camps can be found in Butcherblock Mountains, North Ro, South Ro, Everfrost, and East Commonlands.
