[edit] General Information

The term mana regeneration could refer to one of two things; it can refer to the secondary stat, or it can refer to the more general mechanic of mana regeneration, including Mental Clarity AAs, mana regeneration buffs, Meditate skill, and the mana regeneration secondary stat.

[edit] General Mechanic

All characters have an innate mana regeneration rate of one (1) point of mana per tick while standing. This isn’t the out of combat regeneration system, or the sitting meditation mana regeneration. This can be modified by worn mana regeneration (formerly known as Flowing Thought), alternate advancement abilities (AAs) and buffs.

Each rank of the Mental Clarity Alternate Advancement ability raises that standing innate regeneration by one point. For instance, a character with Mental Clarity 4 would have an innate regeneration rate standing (without counting gear) of 5 points of mana per tick, the one base and four from the four ranks of Mental Clarity.

[edit] Secondary Stat

Your mana regeneration is also enhanced by your gear; many worn items will have a line such as “Mana Regeneration: +3” - this adds 3 points to your base regeneration when standing. The maximum worn mana regeneration is capped at 15 points, before taking into account alternate advancement points. The Expansive Mind line of alternate advancement abilities raises this cap by one per rank. For example, if you have Expansive Mind 3, your cap for worn mana regeneration becomes 18.

[edit] Buffs

The third method by which mana regeneration can be enhanced is by spell effects, also known as buffs. For example, drinking a “Distillate of Clarity X” potion gives you 30 minutes of the spell effect “Elixir of Clarity X” - which has an effect of “Increase Mana by 14 per tick”. This would raise your standing mana regeneration by 14 points.
