Named mob

The term named mob, or simply named for short, refers (in general) to any mob whose name does not begin with "a" or "an". Named mobs could also be known as bosses; they are generally more powerful than regular mobs, and almost always have some sort of special ability. They also nearly always drop some sort of unique loot or quest item, which is why they are camped.

Sometimes raid mobs will also be referred to as named mobs. Which makes sense, because they often pass all the above criteria with flying colors.
