[edit] General Information

The Omens of War expansion added several new, fundamental changes to EverQuest. First, it raised the game's level cap to 70 and added more AAs, under the Omens tab. It allows players to travel to the Realm of Discord, where the Muramites originated before invading Taelosia through Noqufiel's portal in Qvic. With the expansion, epic 1.5 and 2.0 quests were added for every class.

Players can be teleported to Dranik's Scar using any Priest of Discord in the game. There is one at the landing point in Dranik's Scar that can teleport players back to whatever zone they came from.

[edit] Zones

[edit] Traditional Zones

[edit] Outdoor Zones

The Bloodfields - a great battleground between the native Dragorns and the invading Muramites, this zone contains many epic fights, along with several members of the Dranik Loyalists resistance faction, who can aid players in gaining their OoW quest armor.

Dranik's Scar - the entry zone to Kuua, this zone is a forest full of mobs that are ripe for the picking, for players in their 40s. It also contains Karsor the Mad, the NPC that players turn runes into for their level 66-70 Omens of War spells. Within the zone are the Dranik's Hollows instances, which contains a signet required for Citadel of Anguish access.

Muramite Proving Grounds - a virtual labyrinth of hallways upon hallways, this zone contains all sorts of Muramite, along with six group trials, each of which yields +6 to all your resistances and their caps; and the six raid trials which, once all completed, yield a Seal: Mastery of All, the raid portion of the key to Anguish, the Fallen Palace. The zone also contains a couple epic fights, and a number of single-group named mobs, some of which drop augments. One of the signets for Anguish access drops here.

Noble's Causeway - a broken-down road between Dranik's Scar and the Wall of Slaughter, this zone is really only sought after for the epic fights that are found within.

The Ruined City of Dranik - this once-beautiful Dragorn city is now crawling with Muramites and murkgliders. There is a small, passive Dragorn resistance force. This zone is home to a couple powerful high commanders of Muramite army; Battlemaster Rhorious and Zun`Muram Volklana. Another, lower-end raid encounter is Lirah the Bridgekeeper. There are many epic fights in this zone, along with one of the signets for Citadel of Anguish access. There are also two instances found within this zone; Catacombs of Dranik and Sewers of Dranik, each contains a different signet for Anguish access.

Wall of Slaughter - a zone divided in half by a massive, eternally flaming wall, this zone was once popular for lower-end players in their late 60s, even 70, due to the easy kills, abundant mobs, and frequent named mobs. There are a couple events in the zone for entry-level raiding guilds, along with several epic fights. One of the signets for Citadel of Anguish access drops here.

[edit] Dungeons

Harbinger's Spire - a series of caves that lead into a huge tower with a unique energy source in the middle, this zone is seldom traveled. It can be decent experience for players in their 50s, but is mostly used for the Monk epic drop, and later the fight, found within.

Riftseeker's Sanctum - this crystal-encrusted zone is considered the end-game zone of Omens of War, for non-raiding players. It requires level 69 to enter, and yields the best experience out of any zone in the expansion. It has several named mobs that yield coveted items. There are several raid mobs; Chailak and Feratha for lower-end guilds, Queen Pyrilonis and King Gelaqua for higher-end guilds. One of the signets for Citadel of Anguish access drops here; also, Taromani, the NPC who gives the quest for the signets, can be found within these caverns.

[edit] Instanced Dungeons

Anguish, the Fallen Palace - a dark castle found on a small peninsula in the northwest corner of Kuua, this zone is the end-game zone of the Omens of War expansion. Required for entry is the completion of the CoA signets quest, and a Seal: Mastery of All, whether the player obtains it via bagflag or completion of the six Muramite Proving Ground raid trials. Found within are up to five mini bosses, each of which will drop one of nine random augments, outlined in the Anguish article. Also found within are five raid events, each of which drop a bagflag, two Ancient Muramite Runes, one of the raid pieces for OoW tier 2 armor, and two random items from their loot tables. Two of these events drop a Globe of Discordant Energy, required for all classes' epic 2.0s. Last but not least, at the top of the zone, Overlord Mata Muram can be found, reigning over his warring kingdom; Overlord Mata Muram is considered to be the most difficult raid event ever, in any MMORPG.

Catacombs of Dranik - there are three variations to this dark dungeon, found beneath The Ruined City of Dranik. In all variations, there can be found a mob that drops one of the seven signets required for access to the Citadel of Anguish.

Dranik's Hollows - there are three variations to these caves, located under Dranik's Scar. In all variations, a Shrewd Dragorn spawns that can drop one of the signets required for Citadel of Anguish access.

Sewers of Dranik - there are three variations to these dank sewers, located beneath The Ruined City of Dranik. In all variations, a mob can be found that drops one of the signets required for Citadel of Anguish access.

[edit] Signets

Dispersed throughout Kuua, there are seven Dragorns that can each drop a signet required for access to Anguish, the Fallen Palace. Each Dragorn drops the same signet every time, and has a name following the pattern A(n) [Adjective] Dragorn. One all seven are collected, they must be combined in a box supplied by Taromani of Riftseeker's Sanctum, and then given back. Taromani will unlock the magic trapped within the signets, and protect you from the caustic energy that runs rampant within the walls of Anguish. More specific information can be found in the CoA signets article.
