[edit] General Information

This expansion changed a number of things in the world of EverQuest. First and foremost, it changed the level cap to 65. Aside from that, it added the Plane of Knowledge, which was a highly-effective central hub zone for just about any purpose, because every city in the game has a book that provides teleportation to and from the Plane of Knowledge. This completely changed travel throughout the game; although the introduction of The Nexus in the Shadows of Luclin expansion made it a bit less groundbreaking.

The Plane of Knowledge became the premier location for raising tradeskills, due to the abundance of vendors with recipe items and tradeskill containers, such as brew barrels.

This expansion also introduced two new AA lists; PoP General and PoP Advance. Most of the AAs introduced in this expansion were just extensions and improvements to the original Shadows of Luclin AAs, although there were a handful of unique new abilities given to a few classes.

[edit] Zones

The Planes of Power are divided into Tiers.

[edit] Tier 0

The Plane of Knowledge - is open to all players, regardless of level, and whether or not they own the expansion. It contains two banks, countless vendors (including abundant tradeskill vendors and containers), and a teleportation stone to every corner of Norrath.

[edit] Tier 1

These Planes can be entered by any character level 46 or higher.

The Plane of Tranquility - is open to all players, level 46 or higher. It contains a bank and a number of vendors, along with teleportation objects to all the other Planes in the expansion. This plane is ruled by Quellious the Tranquil.

The Demi-Plane of Nightmares - home of Terris-Thule, daughter of Cazic-Thule, this plane contains all manner of dark creature; from black ravens, to nightmarish living trees, to werewolves.

The Plane of Justice - home of The Tribunal and the Seventh Hammer. This plane is the eternal prison for only the worst law-breakers in the world of Norrath. Divided into cell blocks, the prisoners get stronger as players travel further from the stockade at the top of the zone.

The Plane of Innovation - a plane full of abandoned clockworks, intimately tied to Meldrath the Malignant. This zone is an endless junkyard for all manner of discarded and failed tinkering experiments.

The Plane of Disease - home of Grummus, placed in charge by its creator, Bertoxxulous, this zone is full of putrid rivers, massive flies, slimes, and zombies.

[edit] Tier 2

These Planes (with exception) can be entered by any character level 55+ or by completing an access quest.

The Ruins of Lxanvom (aka Crypt of Decay) - this dark crypt is full of all sorts of decaying zombies. Bertoxxulous calls it home.

The Demi-Plane of Torment - home of Saryrn, the dark, sadistic goddess, blood runs in rivers in this zone, and permeates the air as a thin mist.

The Demi-Plane of Valor - ruled by Lord Mithaniel Marr (from the Temple of Marr), this zone contains the remains of warriors deemed worthy by Mithaniel Marr. The prison of the once-great, corrupted glass dragon, Aerin`Dar, lies within.

The Plane of Storms - Karana's playground, this zone is home to all sorts of creatures, from fish to treants. This zone contains the fortresses of three storm giant factions; these giants plot to overthrow Karana.

The Plane of War (non-game) - the domain of Rallos Zek, this Plane never made it into the live game. In Beta, this plane contained Tallon Zek and Vallon Zek engaged in endless battle upon the field of war. The original progression used this as a stepping stone to Drunder.

[edit] Tier 3

These "Planes" can be entered by any character level 62+ or by completing an access quest. The Tower of Solusek Ro is the exception to this in that the access quest is required regardless of player level. Not actually Planes themselves, this tier encompasses zones within a deity's Plane in which the deity in question resides.

The Bastion of Thunder - rising above and overseeing the Plane of Storms as Karana's personal throne, the great god of storms is imprisoned in here by the storm giants found within, and in the Plane of Storms.

Drunder, Fortress of Zek (aka Plane of Tactics) - Rallos Zek's citadel and home to his sons; Tallon, the great bowman, and Vallon, the mighty samurai; this great plane full of warring Ogres and other powerful creatures oversees the battlefield in the Plane of War.

The Halls of Honor - home to Mithaniel Marr's more revered champions, this zone contains three trials that must be completed to gain entry to the Temple of Marr.

The Temple of Marr (aka Halls of Honor B) - home of Mithaniel Marr's greatest warriors along with the Paladin god himself, only the greatest of champions may walk these halls.

The Tower of Solusek Ro - home of Solusek Ro and his five champions, this zone is presumably found within the Demi-Plane of Sun.

[edit] Tier 4

The Elemental Planes comprise Tier 4. These are only accessible by completing the entire PoP progression or by obtaining a bagflag. These realms house the four greater Elemental Gods.

Doomfire, the Burning Lands (aka Plane of Fire) - home of Fennin Ro, Tyrant of Fire, rivers of lava flow through eternally burning trees in this plane.

The Reef of Coirnav (aka Plane of Water) - domain of Prexus, the Ocean Lord, these watery caverns are ruled by his Avatar, Coirnav.

Eryslai, the Kingdom of Wind (aka Plane of Air) - home of Xegony, Queen of Air.

Vegarlson, the Earthen Badlands (aka Plane of Earth) - domain of the Rathe Council who reside in their stronghold Ragrax, these dusty hills are home to all sorts of creature, from crocodiles to massive treants.

Ragrax, Stronghold of the Twelve (aka Plane of Earth B) - the citadel which houses the Rathe Council and their Avatar of Earth.

[edit] Tier 5

This consists entirely of the two zones which make up the Plane of Time. It is only accessible by defeating each of the four Greater Elemental Gods or by looting a bagflag from within the zone.

Plane of Time A - entranceway to the Plane of Time and divided into five elements, the influence from many deities can be found here.

Plane of Time B - the ultimate end-game zone for The Planes of Power, this zone provides many unique raid encounters with armies of eight evil deities, then the deities themselves, and finally, the culmination of power from the four greater Elemental Gods, Quarm, a massive four-headed dragon.
