The Tier 2 Secrets of Faydwer visible armor set can only be obtained by upgrading the Tier 1 armor. So in order to get the Tier 2 chest item, you must first get the Tier 1 chest item.

Here again, each piece of Tier 2 armor can be upgraded to Tier 3 Armor.

NOTE: While the Tier 1 armor is Attunable, the Tier 2 armor is always NO TRADE, even if the Tier 1 piece you're upgrading was never attuned.

[edit] Overview

The generic process for upgrading your Tier 1 armor to Tier 2 armor involves three things:

  • The appropriate piece of Tier 1 armor
  • A Steam Core appropriate to your class
  • A Steam Core Embedder (need confirmation)

[edit] The Embedder

The Steam Core Embedder is a two slot container which is obtained from Automated Vending Unit II in Dragonscale Hills. You must have indifferent faction with Ak'Anon Strike Force V in order to purchase the Embedder and it costs roughly 1600pp.

Steam Cores are class specific and are dropped by group named mobs in Tier 3 Secrets of Faydwer zones.

Once you have the appropriate Steam Core, and the Steam Core Embedder, simply combine the Steam Core with your piece of Tier 1 armor in the Embedder to turn the piece into an upgarded class specific piece.
