Tasks are a type of quest introduced with the Dragons of Norrath expansion. A log of tasks is kept in the quest journal, a UI window that is (by default) toggled with ALT+Q (similar to World of Warcraft's quest functionality). Unlike Adventures and (to a lesser extent) Expeditions, tasks and missions (tasks shared with a group or raid) are still being used for quests even in the latest expansions.
