This quest is exclusively for Gnome Wizards and will result in a free spell. It is begun in the gnome city of Ak`Anon and is for any level character, though characters above level 8 will not receive much for their efforts.

Telescope Lens List

[edit] Quest Initiation

This quest is initiated by speaking to Tobon Starpyre. He can be found in Ak`Anon, at the Wizard guild hall - location (1055, -990, 30). Hail him and he will give you the following dialogue:

“	You say, 'Hail, Tobon Starpyre' Tobon Starpyre says, 'It is good to see the young show an interest in the ways of magic. Its circles can be used in tandem with our unique ways of tinkering. Have you [joined the Eldritch Collective] or are you merely curious?' You say, 'I have joined the Eldritch Collective.' Tobon Starpyre says, 'Very good. Would you like to go [on a little mission] or are you busy studying?' You say, 'I will go on a little mission for you.' Tobon Starpyre says, 'Fabulous! Here is a list of observers outside of Ak`Anon. Go and ask each for a [spare telescope lens]. Each should give you one. We have need of them. I await your return as does your reward, either Fire Bolt or Fingers of Fire. Meant for a skilled Wizard of the eighth trial.	”

I await your return as does your reward, either Fire Bolt or Fingers of Fire. Meant for a skilled Wizard of the eighth trial.

He will provide you with a scroll that lists all the observers you must find and ask for a spare telescope lens. You must now find each observer and procure a spare telescope lens from each to complete the quest.

There are four observers you must find, in no particular order. They can each be found inside their own observatory that looks like the Observatory image, at the right.

Location: In the Steamfont Mountains, just outside the entrance to Ak`Anon, at location (-1790, 675, -109)

Observatory

Dialogue: Hail Fodin Frugrin and he will respond as follows:

“	You say, 'Hail, Fodin Frugrun' Fodin Frugrin says, 'Hello! Have you ever peered beyond our little world? Somewhere out there in the vast darkness is a world filled with great technology and adventure. Our people should concentrate on reaching these distant worlds beyond the sparkling skies.' You say, 'Do you have a spare telescope lens?'	”

Fodin Frugrin says, 'Hello! Have you ever peered beyond our little world? Somewhere out there in the vast darkness is a world filled with great technology and adventure. Our people should concentrate on reaching these distant worlds beyond the sparkling skies.'

When you ask him for a spare telescope lens, he will gladly give you one.

Tindo Frugrin

Location: In the Steamfont Mountains, due north of the windmills, at location (1875, -280, -110)

Dialogue: Upon hailing Trindo Frugrin, he will respond with the following dialogue:

“	You say, 'Hail, Tindo Frugrin' Tindo Frugrin says, 'Greetings! It is good to see a new face out here. I am Tindo Frugrin, observer for the Eldritch Collective. You say, 'Do you have a spare telescope lens?' Tindo Frugrun says, 'I was hoping you were not the one they sent. I have a slight problem. My brother Bidl Frugrin is holding the lens. He went to Kelethin for a little observation. He has been there for quite some time. I fear he has found the local tavern. He will no doubt spend his days in the forest and every night at the tavern.	”

Tindo Frugrin says, 'Greetings! It is good to see a new face out here. I am Tindo Frugrin, observer for the Eldritch Collective.

You say, 'Do you have a spare telescope lens?'

Tindo Frugrun says, 'I was hoping you were not the one they sent. I have a slight problem. My brother Bidl Frugrin is holding the lens. He went to Kelethin for a little observation. He has been there for quite some time. I fear he has found the local tavern. He will no doubt spend his days in the forest and every night at the tavern.

”

You must travel to Kelethin and find Bidl to retrieve this lens.

Phiz Frugrin

Location: In the Steamfont Mountains in the southeast corner of the map, at location (-1565, -1825, -109)

Dialogue: When you hail Phiz Frugrin he will respond as follows:

“	You say, 'Hail, Phiz Frugrun' Phiz Frugrin says, 'Hello, my friend. Good to meet you.' You say, 'Do you have a spare telescope lens?' Phiz Frugrin says, 'Oh, my, I have bad news. It was stolen by a dark elf rogue. She fled very quickly. My little legs could not keep up. She dropped this. You must find her! Get it back. We have very few lenses.	”

You say, 'Hail, Phiz Frugrun'

Phiz Frugrin says, 'Hello, my friend. Good to meet you.'

You say, 'Do you have a spare telescope lens?'

Phiz Frugrin says, 'Oh, my, I have bad news. It was stolen by a dark elf rogue. She fled very quickly. My little legs could not keep up. She dropped this. You must find her! Get it back. We have very few lenses.

”

He will give you a filthy towel that will say "Chops N Hops Finest Drinking Establishment in Freeport". You will need to travel to Freeport and get this lens back from the rogue dark elf.

Trudo Frugrin

Location: In Lesser Faydark, near the zone line to Steamfont Mountains, at location (1075, -1675, -2)

Dialogue: Hailing Trudo Frugrin will result in the following dialogue:

“	You say, 'Hail, Trudo Frugrun' Trudo Frugrin says, 'What, what?!! I am quite busy here. I have studies to complete and charts to make!' You say, 'Do you have a spare telescope lens?' Trudo Frugrun says, 'Yes, of course. Here you are. Now be off!'	”

Zenita D'Rin

Location: In East Freeport, South of the Chops N Hops Bar and east of Gord's Smithy, at location (-1545, 335, -50)

Dialogue: Hailing Zenita D'Rin will result in the following dialogue:

“	You say, 'Hail, Zenita D'Rin' Zenita D'rin says, 'Greetings! I would love to chat with you, but I just remembered something.. I do not waste time with whelps!'	”

It will be necessary to attack and kill her. Looting from her corpse should yeild the stolen lens.

Bidl Frugrin

Location: Unknown, beyond somewhere in Kelethin. Supposed to be in a tavern at night and wandering the forest during the day. Even the services of a 19th Level Ranger Tracking has been unsuccessful in finding him. Possibly no longer available.
