[edit] General Information
This is the quest that yields the final in the series of three gate talismans, The Binden Concerrentia, from the Planes of Power expansion.
[edit] Quest Information
This quest is started with Elder Clinka, found in the Plane of Tranquility at location (-385, -1275, -900), sitting in one of the buildings outside the Plane of Nightmare entrance (up the left staircase, if you're facing inward toward the zone line). Hand her The Talisman Schematic to receive a Small Lined Case, and trigger the following dialog:
| “ | Elder Clinka says 'It is a pleasure to meet you. I've heard a great deal about you from the other elders. Please give me a moment to scan over this for you.'
Elder Clinka scans the schematic for a few seconds, mumbling as she reads, 'This pargment states that you are to place a small shard of concentrated matter into each of the holes in your talisman.' She points a finger to the diagram as she begins to recount what she has learned from it, 'They would then need to be locked into place, as the diagram indicates here.' Elder Clinka says 'If you bring me a fragment or shard of some living creature from each of the elemental planes, I will see if we can make this device work. Place them in this box with your talisman and combine them together before returning the box to me. In the meantime, I will continue to translate this document from its original language.' | ” |

[edit] Quest Walkthrough
Completion of this requires collecting four items, one from each of the Elemental planes. The items drop off the mephits in each zone. The items necessary are A Living Fragment of Air (from the Plane of Air), A Living Fragment of Water (from the Plane of Water), A Living Fragment of Fire (from the Plane of Fire), and A Living Fragment of Earth (from the Plane of Earth, whether Vegarlson or Ragrax).
[edit] A Living Fragment of Air
Collecting the Living Fragment of Air is probably the toughest of the four. It drops from mephits in the Plane of Air, which are a little ways into the zone. Plane of Air has never been a popular place for groups to go, due to the difficulty of the mobs, and the generally hard pulls; it isn't easy to get a single mob in there, and it take far longer than most groups are willing to wait. As a result, the only real viable way to get at them is with a raid force, while doing the rings, or on the way to Xegony. The Fragments are dropped by A Temple Guardian.
[edit] A Living Fragment of Water
The Living Fragment of Water is probably the easiest of the four. It is dropped by mephits (these ones are named Trilouns) in the Plane of Water. There are two mephits that spawn right at the zone-in, and several that spawn nearby. Any of the mephits in the zone, of course, can drop it. Note that this one is also used in the Ranger epic 2.0.
[edit] A Living Fragment of Fire
The Living Fragment of Fire is another easy one. It drops off of mephits (called Jopals in here) in the Plane of Fire. If one goes toward the camp dividing the Plane of Fire in half (commonly called the wall, castle 1, or the spear camp) and goes right, following the lava river, they will come to an island covered in Jopals. It shouldn't take long to get a Fragment from here. It should be noted that this Fragment is also used in the Ranger epic 2.0.
[edit] A Living Fragment of Earth
This one's a bit more difficult, but not as hard as the Air fragment. It drops from mephits in the Plane of Earth (both Vegarlson and Ragrax); the mephits are called Vekerchiki and An Earthcrafted Assasin in both zones. In Vegarlson, they can be found littered throughout the zone; however, pulling singles in here is an easy task. In Ragrax, they can be found right at the zone-in; however, they are more difficult than the ones in Vegarlson.
[edit] The Final Turn-in
Once the four Fragments have been collected, combine them along with a Powered Clockwork Talisman in the Small Lined Case from Elder Clinka to create a Sealed Lined Case. Hand the Sealed Lined Case to Elder Clinka to receive The Binden Concerrentia, and trigger the following dialog:
| “ | Elder Clinka carefully opens the small box and takes several small tools from the pocket in her robe. Her nimble fingers place the glowing elemental pieces into the appropriate sockets and covers them with several small caps that she must have made while you were away.
Elder Clinka then looks up at you and says, 'This device is called the Binden Concerrentia. Its true power will be revealed to you soon. This document describes it as a device that is meant to convert the energy that can be found in true prime elemental matter, into an entirely new form of energy. The schematic states that this energy will 'bind you in the now'. I am not sure what that means, but I believe that you will soon find out.' Elder Clinka says 'Take care of it and keep it with you at all times. I feel that your journey from this point will only become more dangerous. Perhaps this device will play a role in all of that. Move forward along the path of enlightenment. May the Balance guide your fate.' | ” |
