[edit] Tradeskills

Tradeskills are styles in which players can craft items and equipment. It is an alternative to fighting to acquire certain items, and are the only way to obtain others. There are multiple forms of tradeskills. The general populous has the ability to learn all of the following tradeskills:

  • Baking
  • Brewing
  • Fishing
  • Fletching
  • Jewelcraft
  • Pottery
  • Smithing
  • Tailoring

Of the listed, all but Fishing can be brought to 200 skill at level 1, but only one can surpass 200. Upon reaching higher levels and obtaining the right AAs, a player can bring even more of the tradeskils past 200 skill. The higher the skill, the more items you can manufacture, and the more difficult and/or expensive the items required to increase the skill become. When one increases in a skill, you will obtain the following message:

You have gotten better at ______!(123)

The name of the tradeskill will be displayed, and the number in the parenthesis is the skill number that has been reached. Apart from the tradeskills listed above, there are race/class specific tradeskills, which make up for the rest of the tradeskills found in EverQuest. They are as follows:

  • Alchemy
  • Enchanting/Imbuing (casted only, requires and increases conjuration and are no-fail)
  • Make Poison
  • Spell Research
  • Tinkering

Each of these tradeskills, along with Fishing, are a level-based tradeskill, meaning the maximum skill these tradeskills can reach is increased per level. Certain skills, such as Alchemy, Enchanting / Imbuing, and Spell Research, require a character to obtain a certain level to be reached before they can be used.
