Wizards are the big direct-damage casters of Norrath. They are one of the Intelligence casters, and as a result, also wear silk armor. No races are particularly bad or amazingly good at being a Wizard; races with high intelligence are good, but there are no racial mana regeneration or spell damage bonuses, so there's nothing very major.
